New pipe organs

We build organs of all sizes for cathedrals, churches and parishes as well as concert halls, philharmonic halls, conservatories and music schools.

The diversity and variety of the spaces in which our organs are located inspire us in the design of our works. Our organ designs range from historical models to contemporary modern designs.

The combination of our individual and innovative craftsmanship with the different forms of expression of today’s architecture stimulates our creativity in organ building.

Our construction principle

Our new organs are characterized by a solid, individual and handcrafted production and is characterized by our decades of pronounced restoration practice on historically significant instruments.

We rely on manufacturing in our own workshop in order to realize the individual wishes of our customers and to further develop the craftsmanship of organ building.

By rediscovering the construction methods of old masters, we are today able to manufacture instruments that meet the highest demands in combination with the most modern production techniques.

The sound of an organ inspires people of many generations.

Our labial pipes

The metal labial pipes are made of different tin-lead alloys. We match the alloys to the room acoustics according to the sound requirements.

Over the past 20 years, we have gained groundbreaking insights through the reconstruction of historical alloy compositions in cooperation with the University of Potsdam.

The alloy “English Tin” with a tin content of 96 percent was analyzed and reconstructed by us. This metal is very hard and shows excellent tonal properties, especially in the response behavior of the deep 16′ and 8′ registers, as well as a stability that prevents the pipe feet and bodies from sagging in the labia area.

In addition, there is a sustainable material saving of around 60 percent compared to the alloys previously used. From the casting of the metal plates to the pre-intoned pipes, we have created the possibility to produce everything in our own workshop.

Due to our 25 years of practical experience with this processing method, we give our customers a 25-year warranty for the stability of these pipes.

Our Lingual Pipes

The reed stops are conceived, built and intoned for the room according to individual tonal intentions.

The reedmensures are usually calculated in our workshop in order to achieve an extraordinary combination of gentleness, brilliance and gravity in combination with the sound design of the organ.

The reconstruction of historical reed stops can also be done by our experienced reed maker in our workshop.

Our sound concept

Our organs have a pronounced clarity, subtlety and colourfulness in the individual voices, a high mixing ability among the registers and a powerful sonority.

In the sound design of church and concert organs, we rely particularly on the close cooperation between musicians, experts and scientists.

Since church and concert organs have completely different requirements, however, they differ considerably in their sound concept.

Church organs in the classical style are clearly designed for polyphonic playing, whereas concert organs are increasingly symphonic, i.e. oriented towards the orchestra. An important characteristic of all instruments is that the polyphonic drawing ability of the individual voices is strongly emphasized without, however, impairing the sound fusion desirable in the romantic sense. For this reason, modern and symphonic music can be performed just as excellently on the organs conceived according to these aspects.

Our Voicing

Since there are many musical nuances and shades in the sound world of the queen of instruments, our organs are not designed according to fixed criteria. The work of our voicers moves in the field of tension of room acoustics, disposition and the construction form of the pipe work as well as the artistic claim to the sound statement of the instrument.

In intonation, as in all artistic and innovative areas, it is particularly important to allow openness and curiosity the necessary space for flexibility. The sound decisions are based above all on the personal and artistic experiences of our voicers, supplemented by the knowledge of the old masters and new scientific findings.

Modern organ controls and console tables

The console is the organist’s workplace. The console design and the arrangement of the operating elements are individually conceived for each organ. If the instrument is equipped with a setter system, this and the organ control are included in this process.

Our organ building workshop specializes in developing and implementing individual concepts together with our customers.

New technical components offer functions such as proportional control, single tone play, key and register cuff, touch screen control, smartphone connection and much more. New accents can be set by programming Crescendi at different key depths, adding a MIDI sound generator, playing with touch dynamics and using loops or sequences as a basis for improvisation.
